HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY, RED RIVER THEATRES!!!

I LOVE the gang at Red River Theatres.  Seven years ago (!!!) they let this bearded fat dude show a mini-film with muppets to propose to his wife. And it went a little crazy afterwards, and every step of the way everyone up there has been close to my heart. I can never thank them enough for everything they did.

This year marks their 10th Birthday! I couldn't make it up to their birthday festivities, but Muppet Sid wanted to let them know that there isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't think about them.

Happy Birthday, RRT.  We love you all. I hope you are around for a long, long, long time, exposing people to quality independent cinema.

Duality

I used to be scared to incorporate Muppet Sid into stuff - because I didn't want people to think I was trying to "cash in" on what attention the Muppet Proposal got.  And because it's the internet, I got some mean emails and comments anytime I'd photograph him or try to do something fun with him.

Enough time has gone by (egads, almost 5 years ago!  Where did the time go??) that I've been bringing Muppet Sid out more and more for stuff.  Because he's a Muppet version of me.  Because he's simply too awesome not to do fun things with.   And, because, screw you, internet haters.

A few people have joked that Muppet Sid and I are becoming one and the same.  With him speaking my words in my "Inspiration" post at DEDPXL, they could very well be correct.

So I made this one day at the studio while doing some test lighting for a head shot that was coming in.  I think it's fun.  It's me.  It's also a Muppet-me.  It's all me.

Suck it, Internet haters.  He's awesome.  I'm awesome.  I'm tired of people trying to make me feel ashamed of that.

Okay, so, I need your help.

It has been confirmed that with the success of the first "Muppets" movie from last year that they are going to move forward with "Muppets II".

And I had an idea.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we could find a way to get Muppet Sid and Muppet Sara a cameo in the next Muppet film?  Like a walk-by cameo or something.  How insane would that be.

I want this to happen.  I want to meet the people that make Muppet movies.

Here is what I'm asking your help for: Share the facebook page, and my blog page with everyone you know; on Facebook, on Twitter, on other social sites, you name it.  If it's a place it can be shared, share it!  I have no idea if this little social experiment can work, but who knows; maybe one of you out there knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody who might know someone associated with making the next movie.

The 2011 New England Art Awards is a contest to honor the best art made in New England, local writing about local art, and exhibits of New England art organized in 2011. Artist Juniper Friedman of Massachusetts; Daniel Fuller, director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art; Liz O’Connell of Massachusetts ranked their top six picks in each category from hundreds of nominations. The final ballot features the top votes in each category from each of these advisers plus The New England Journal of Aesthetic Research.

The February 2012 New Hampshire Magazine features a lovely feature on local love stories in the state. NH Magazine contacted us last month asking if we'd be interested in partaking in their article. Of course we would!

We got to meet with NH Magazine photographer John Hession at the Red River Theatre, where the whole proposal took place and got to revisit the moment and had a blast spending the morning with him.

Muppet Sid and Muppet Sara were excited when I brought home the print edition!  Here they are showing off they there were in the magazine :)
